Vanderbilt Medical Center’s Burn unit has teamed up with Music City Skydiving to benefit Camp Hope. Camp Hope is a nonprofit organization that offers a free week of physical and emotional healing for children who have suffered burn injuries. They help children enjoy some of their favorite summer activities with others who have similar experiences and challenges. The idea was a brain child of MCS co-owner Taylor Smith, who for many years has been a volunteer fire firefighter during the winter months while the DZ is shut down.
Music City Skydiving pledged $50 from every tandem skydive made over the weekends of July 2,3 and 8,9 to the camp. We had great participation and great weather both weekends. The DZ raised $1,000 to help sponsor the children attending this year’s camp, held July 19 through July 22nd. The children range between ages 6 and 16.
